A collection of area softball players picked up some hardware on a recent trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Playing for Raymond Rapture 18u, a pair of West Jefferson standouts and one London High School softball player, helped their squad place second in the World Fastpitch Connection Beach Showdown July 14-16.

West Jeff’s Andrea Fulton and Katie Runyon and London’s Makayla Ratliff all played major roles in helping the team go 6-2 on the weekend. Both losses came against Tennessee Magic, including in the championship game.

The Rapture team is made up of players from high schools around Central Ohio, including Fairbanks, Delaware Hayes, Delaware Christian, Waterloo, Olentangy Liberty and Westerville.
