WJ girls run past CSG, 4-1

The West Jefferson girls soccer team had a major breakthrough victory last week in defeating visiting Columbus School for Girls 4-1.

The Roughriders (4-1) took down the Unicorns, one of the better teams in Central Ohio.

West Jeff was lead by Zoie Fisher, who scored two goals. The team also got goals from Hope Lewis and Erica Lewis.

Haley Kurtz was solid in goal allowing just the one CSG tally.

Worthington Kilbourne 0

The Lady Pioneers (4-0-1) didn’t allow a goal in its contest at Kilbourne Thursday, Sept. 1 but unfortunately for Alder it was unable to score one of its own and was forced to settle for a 1-1 draw.

The team was scheduled to play at DeSales Tuesday and will return home to tangle with Tri-Valley Saturday evening at 7:15 p.m.

Benjamin Logan 3

The Red Raiders (0-3-1) earned a draw in a non-league contest played at home Saturday.

The team will next play at Teays Valley Saturday, Sept. 10. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Marysville 1

The Pioneers (4-0-2) and the Monarchs played to a draw during a game played Thursday, Sept. 1 in Marysville.

The Pioneers had little trouble dispatching of their Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference foe Thursday afternoon, Sept. 1.

Zach Otto was the event medalist, firing a round of 40.
