The high school sports season is underway for all the fall sports teams, some are still in the scrimmage stage, but for sports like golf and tennis the season is well underway.
Area teams have been working hard and their work is starting to pay off.

The Lady Pioneers had no trouble sweeping the Pacers Wednesday.
Alder won all of the singles matches in straight sets. Mikayla Holland won her match at first singles, defeating Grace Brinkmoeller 6-0, 6-1.
Chloe Grove topped Paris Knipp at second singles 6-0, 6-2, while Cassie Troyer knocked off Renae Haferman 6-4, 6-2.
On the doubles courts, Sidney Winslow and Sarah Labuhn were victorious, knocking off Emily Miklas and Ericka Johnson, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 at first doubles, while Madison Vance and Madeyln Grove defeated Emmaline Riggs and Bridget Johnson 6-1, 6-0.

The Pioneers picked up a big win over a neighboring rival Tuesday afternoon, edging the Panthers by three shots in a match played at Buck Ridge.
Fairbanks’ Todd Crowe was event medalist with a round of 41, but he was followed closely by Alder’s Hayden Mitchell and Mychal McKelvey (43 each), Joey Petrella (44) and Tyler Unger (45).
The Golden Eagles got a good look at one of the very best golf teams in the state when they traveled to Marysville Golf Club Wednesday to tangle with the talented Panthers of Fairbanks and Southeastern.
Plains split the match falling to Fairbanks but finishing 33 shots ahead of Southeastern.
All six of the Fairbanks players shot rounds of 47 or lower in earning the win. Plains was lead by the 53 by Morgan Hunter. Regan Rubel finished with a 54, while Kailee Rhoads (63) and Connor Hunter (66) also competed for the Eagles.
