Looking to go out, yet still stay close for Valentine’s Day? The local arts council is offering a special production for the romantic holiday.
The simply-staged play “Love Letters” will be presented by the Madison County Arts Council on Friday, Feb. 10 and Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Brennan Loft, 158 S. Main St. Dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the show at 7:30.
Directed by Joyce Hildebrand, “Love Letters” lives the 50-year story of two lifetime friends: Melissa Gardner (Stephanie Stephens), and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III (Bruce Thompson). Through notes, letters, and cards, we learn of the couple’s hopes, dreams, aspirations, disappointments, victories, and defeats. Despite leading lives that should not intersect — marriages, families, and careers apart from one another — their friendship continues to stand.
Written by A.R. Gurney, “Love Letters” is a readers theater style play with adult themes and language. It debuted in 1988.
To purchase tickets, contact Tim Wilson at Wilson Printing and Graphics at 740-852-5934 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Cost is $35 per person or $60 for a couple and includes light appetizers, dinner, dessert, wine and the show.
