Halloween events planned in Madison County

The following is the schedule for Trick or Treat:

• London — Monday, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m.

• Mount Sterling — Monday, Oct. 31, 5:30 to 7 p.m.

• Plain City — Monday, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m.

• West Jefferson — Monday, Oct. 31, 5:30 to 7 p.m.

• Choctaw Lake — Monday, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m.

• Fairfield Township — Monday, Oct. 31, 5 to 7 p.m.

The following is a schedule of events for Halloween:

• Madison County Health Providers Association Tips and Treats, 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 20 at Cowling Park in London. Children can pick up treats from various vendors, while parents pick up health information. Face painting, crafts and demonstrations provided.

• Ghoul School, 7 to 10 p.m., Oct. 21-22 and Oct. 28-29, the old Mount Sterling School, 94 W. Main St., Mount Sterling.

• The Madison Press Halloween Costume Contest. Bring in your child in costume to the office at 55 W. High St. between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays up until Oct. 25. Extended hours until 6:30 p.m. Oct. 24 and Oct. 25. Pictures will be published Oct. 29. Prizes awarded.

• First Baptist Church, 250 Toland St., London — Friday, Oct. 28, 7 to 9 p.m., Trunk N Treat, in the parking lot, gym and a bonfire out back. There will treats, food, fun and activities for the whole family. Free and open to the public.

• London Church of the Nazarene, 224 Elm St., London — Saturday, Oct. 29, 6:30 to 8:30, Trunk N Treat, parking lot behind the church.

• First United Methodist Church, 52 N. Main St., London — Sunday, Oct. 30, 6 to 8 p.m., Trunk N Treat, behind the church in the parking lot

• St. John’s Lutheran Church, 380 Keny Blvd., London — Sunday, Oct. 30, 6 to 8 p.m., Trunk N Treat.

• Mt. Sterling Costume Contest, after Treat or Treat on Oct. 31, at the gazebo. Trophies for pet in costume. A parade will follow up London Street to the Dairy Freeze where winners will be announced. Free doughnuts, hot chocolate and apple cider.

• Center Street Church’s Light Up the Night, 180 W. Center St., London, Monday, Oct. 31, 6 to 8 p.m., in the parking lot. In case of inclement weather meet in the foyer of the church.
