London will be in full color this weekend as participants will have an all-new experience during this year’s Rib Tickler 5K.
The fun run and walk — traditionally held in conjunction with the London Rib and Jazz Fest — will be on Saturday at 6 p.m.
The 5K will start on the Madison County Courthouse lawn and will be approximately 3.1 miles through the streets of historic downtown London. Throughout the race, volunteers will have batches of color to toss as participants run by.
Race registrations can be picked up and dropped off at the London City Administration Office, 6 E. Second St., or online at https://runsignup.com/Race/OH/London/2016RibTickler5KColorFunRunWalk. Day-of registration will also be available.
The race registration fee includes a T-shirt, your own bag of colored powder and prizes for the top three runners in both the male and female categories in each age group. The 5K will be timed and each runner’s time will be posted online.
Runners will still have plenty of time after the race to listen to great music, eat a couple racks of ribs and enjoy the rest of the festival.
The festival draws about 10,000 people to downtown London to enjoy about 5,000 pounds of ribs and hours of live music.
