Two Plain City pharmacists were recently recognized for their combined 100 years of service to the practice of pharmacy.

Registered Pharmacists Robert “Bob” Borchers and Charles Holcombe were awarded certificates from the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy for having “faithfully served the profession of pharmacy for 50 years.”

Both Borchers and Holcombe work for Plain City Druggist. Borchers also is the compounding pharmacist for Midwestern Compounding Pharmacy.

The two were each independent pharmacy owners at one time, managing and working in their own stores.

Holcombe also assists with the Plain City Area Free Clinic and was instrumental in establishing the resource for the Plain City community. He and his wife both volunteer with the clinic and devote much time and talent to helping those who are often forgotten or overlooked and would not have health services otherwise.

Borchers was a finalist for the Lifetime Leadership Award from Next Generation Pharmacist in 2015 for his lifelong dedication to the profession of pharmacy.

Plain City Druggist is located at 480 S. Jefferson Ave., Plain City. The office number is 614-873-0880.
