Plain City Lions awards scholarships


Ashley Day, left, daughter of Tim and Beth Day, Plain City, was recently awarded the Vowell scholarship of $1,000 from the Plain City Lions Club. The award was presented by Lion Ben Cosgray. Day is a junior at Ohio Wesleyan University studying Zoology and also plays center field for the university’s softball team. Two other recipients of a $1,000 Vowell scholarship award were Alec Koppes and Natalie Hustek. Each year, the Plain City Lions Club awards scholarships to Jonathan Alder graduates who have completed at least one year of higher education in an effort to help those students continue in their academic pursuits.
