An open house will be held for Frank Roby, of Plain City, as he celebrates his 90th birthday.
The event will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7, at Big Darby Baptist Church, 6921 Plain City-Georgesville Road, Plain City. The family requests no gifts.
Roby was born on Aug. 10, 1926 to Elton and Irene Roby on a farm on Hayden Run Road in Madison County. His occupations have been a farmer, auctioneer, and mail carrier.
Roby enjoys eating breakfast most mornings with area friends at the Der Dutchman, according to his family. He mows his large yard and has a garden. He reads many magazines including: The Smithsonian, Farm and Ranch, Saturday Evening Post and Guidepost, as well as historical books and The New York Times.
Roby grew up attending Big Darby Baptist Church and has taught adult classes and served in many other areas.
He is married to his wife, Eleanor Roby. His daughters and his son are: Dawn and Derrill Davis, Denise and Jerry Troyer, Christine and Chuck Reed, Bryan and Sharon Roby. He also has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
